AI adding value to the worlds GNP is the topic on today's AI Minute.
Transcript
Recently PricewaterhouseCoopers released a projection that by 2030 artificial intelligence will have added an annual 16 trillion dollars to the world GNP. Now, to put that into perspective that's on par with the current United States GNP of about 19 trillion.
Does this make intuitive sense to you? That in a matter of about 13 years artificial intelligence will create a US economy sized amount of additional growth than what we would experience without it.
There are those who think the numbers are much higher. That the breakthroughs will come much quicker and that AI has the ability or at least the potential to increase World GNP a hundred fold.
Others pick a much more modest impact and say that these technologies take a long time to adopt, but 13 years isn't very far off, and we will certainly find out soon enough.
