Will AI, narrow AI--the kind we have now, but presume it gets a good deal better--make us, the general population, happier? That's really the question, isn't it? I believe that the answer is yes, because AI, in the end, does two things. First, it saves us labor which gives us back out most finite resource which is our time. And second, it makes us smarter, by allowing the mistakes and learnings of others to help us make better decisions. If being smarter and having more free time doesn’t make us happier, then I'm a little confused about what would.
