In this episode, Byron talks about the term "artificial".
Transcript
I've discussed before that "artificial intelligence" is a tricky term. It's a tricky term because the man who coined it said he set the bar way too high. But I also think it's a problematic term from a PR point of view.
I mean, if you think about it, artificial anything seems less natural than a natural anything. Artificial intelligence, just the image it conjures up in the popular mind is something that is coldly efficient, un-relatable, and alien. So the term itself is inherently full of fearful images about how it's artificial and different than a human.
