People have made predictions about the end of the world, for as long as we know. Often they pin it down to a single date that some catastrophe or apocalypse happens. Now, here is the interesting thing. You may know that they have all been wrong, every single one of them without exception throughout all of history have all been wrong.

Now today, a new group of people are making similar predictions about the end of humanity at the hands of a super intelligence, AI. Now, these claims seem to be shrouded in science, but a super intelligence at this point is a science fiction plot not a scientific fact. And until someone shows that we can build an AGI, that we can build a general intelligence that can become a super intelligence, we should be cautious about such claims.
