Could artificial intelligence, combined with genetic engineering together allow for the, quote, "science" of eugenics to make a comeback? Quite likely, actually. It may go by a different name, but the desire to improve the species was a strong one in the early 20th century. But the desire for parents to improve one's own offspring is even stronger. So the temptation to give your own child some kind of an edge is probably irresistible to many parents. Will this in fact generate the world that we see in the movie Gattaca, a world of genetic haves and have-nots. It could very easily become a reality.
