In this episode, Byron talks about Ethernet.
Transcript
On this date, May 22, 1973, Bob Metcalfe a member of the research staff at Xerox developed Ethernet which connected multiple computers and other hardware together. You can draw a straight line from that to the internet we have today, in which two billion or more people are connected, and millions upon millions of devices are added everyday. Although we, individually, don't often connect with Ethernet, it is still the protocol and the backbone for the Internet as a whole and, it all began almost half a century ago.
